I like it. Good looking. I wonder how useful the rear locker is for skis and boards? It looks like it might be hard to thread much though the opening. Would the bow ladder compartment also hold an anchor? Once you have a bow anchor locker, I don't think you'd want to go without.

Tiny cockpit with that oversize sun pad on it. The 22 and 24 SD with outboard power should have a much larger cockpit.
Should be seeing those two models very soon.

Looking forward to seeing the outboard models.

With that being said, I am a bit disappointed that the first folks to see these new models (specifically the 21 Jet and the 220 Sundeck) are random folks who happen to attend a boat show - and not hardcore Sea Ray loyalists like us.

Wow, that boat is TINY. I don't like the bolt-on swim platform either.

All I can say is that compared to the origional 220 SD, there is hardly any room. My boat seats 6 adults + 1 100lb dog with pleanty of room to spare. By the photo, I would say the 'NEW' 220 SD is a 4 person boat. Maybe 6 if you had to, but it would be pushing it. I have had 10 on my boat and it was tight but we managed. I am also unsure why Searay added such a large sunpad. These boats are meant to hold lots of people!

On a positive note, the fit and finish seem to be very nice!

Large sunpad added because "everybody else is doing it" . Lack of true consumer input at design dept. says that younger buyers will be looking at these boats, no need to target baby boomers any longer, and younger people are more apt to have sun worshippers and kids to use all that sunpad. But they fail to see the advantage of space for occupants in the boat. Like grandpa wanting to take the kids and grandkids out for a day, and have a place for all to sit safely. I belive that was the original intent of the SD's, and now are drifting off into delusional views of what SR braintrust thinks buyer's of these boats want now.

It's sad since I don't know many 'younger' buyers that can afford this level of boat. Hell, I am 40 and it's all the boat I can TRULY afford (without compromising my ability to use it on a regular basis). I see so many boaters who leave their boat at the dock due to high fuel prices. For me, I have no issue filling up whenever I want and towing my boat to other states.

The one thing I will say is that I am very happy that Searay has chosen to go away from the traditional 'Sundeck' concept. It shows very well for my resale value. If you search the dealer network, the older style 220 SD is in pretty high demand and is thus commanding high resale pricing. Thanks Sea Ray.

It'll be interesting to learn of folks perception of space one they can be seen in person - hopefully very soon?

Also, I'm curious as to what the outboard variants of the 220 and 240 will be like.

I guess somebody will need to attend a boatshow in Switzerland to see them anytime in the near future?

In regards to Sea Ray's design direction on the interiors of the new sport boats, I do like it.

If they'd have done a new 21' prop boat with an interior similar to and as flexible as the new Jet (transom height limitations withstanding) I'd seriously consider flipping my 190 for it.

Well, it's 1 1/2 feet shorter and the beam is 2" less. On top of that, it has a huge swim pad. I would say it has at least 4' less functional length than my boat.

And I just noticed that they got rid of the wet bar. We use ours every time we are out....from washing lime juice off our fingers to filling up the dog's water bowl.

Hey Joe, I hadn't seen any specs or measurements on the boats yet. Interesting. I also assumed it was possible they did something similar to when they launched the current 190, where it was the 185's hull with a new cap on it (my previous boat was a 2010 185). About Kook's photos, is the bottom picture a Four Winns? It will definitely be odd to see an outboard engine on a Sea Ray, won't it? My other boat is a '66 Boston Whaler Sakonnet, and I think they did a good job with the new Vantage as far as a bowrider-runabout type boat equipped with an outboard.

Nope. Both are Southwind boats that have sold very well for many years. Fast hulls, economical, not your traditional deckboat hull, and will handle some big water. The 2200SD sells for (MSRP) $44K with 150HP OB. Expect the Sea Ray equivalent to be north of $56K.

D'oh! Newsflash. Sea Ray's loaded a 'virtual tour' of the *new* new model on their website. It's on the photo gallery page for the 220. Of course, all of the photos on the page (as well as the spec sheet) are from the outgoing model. Sea Ray seems to struggle with coordinating what's presented (regarding new and outgoing models) in their marketing channels - both the website and the mobile app. Regardless of space, the styling and detail work are certainly upscale.

I'm wondering about the square touchpad looking thingy to the lower right of the steering wheel... Built in nav perhaps?

Go ahead, book your flight. You will miss them at the obvious location next week then....

MarineMax will have both the 22 and 24 OB boats at the Miami boat show next week. Plus the 350DA and 370 Venture of course.

I am not a fan of OB Searay's unless it's the old 185 sport/fish model. In my mind, a sundeck should be an I/O. The only exception would be if they somehow integrated the OB motor below the swim platform. We spend all day on our swim platform and it seems a shame to have a big motor taking up half of the back!
