So I bought this used Sundancer and have yet to find any Owner's info on what causes the flush control light in the head to go from green to red. Tank has been emptied and not aware of any fresh water issues. Any ideas????

I'm assuming it will move to red when the waste tank level is full, so you don't end up with a mess on your hands.

is it staying red?? or are you just trying to figure out why it turns red after you flush? Red indicates that it is not prepared to flush, that might be because there is not enough vacuum, a clog, or its full. after every flush it take a few moments to build up enough vacuum for the next flush. not sure if that answers your question.

It varies between red/green with no reason. Tank is never full as we barely use it and it gets emptied monthly. Fresh water pump is on, water tank is full it just seems like sometimes it's red and sometimes it's green. SR doesn't have any info on what the lights mean. You mention vacuum so I assume there is a vacuum pump somewhere that causes the negative pressure. Any idea where this is located?

If it is fluctuating without flushing, you have a leak in the vacuum system somewhere. It turns red when the vacuum pump is on (and if you were down in the ER, I assume you'd hear it cycle on) Does the bowl hold water when not flushing?

Only about 1" of water.

Only about 1" of water.
Empty the bowl (turn water off) then turn the toilet on. If you hear a sucking sound at the bowl, it is your bowl seals. It can be duckbills, the toilet base seal, the vacuum pump itself, so read up on it and you will figure it out.

As others have indicated - the light will turn red with your vacuum generator is running and the pressure switch is not closed. It will return to green when the pressure switch is closed and vacuum generator stops cycling

I'm guessing I have some type of small leak because frequently when I'm in the ER I hear a small motor cycling periodically and note that when I turn off the "head breaker" at my panel that the noise stops so maybe it's cycling to try to maintain the vacuum??? I'll do some tests next weekend when I'm out.

Yes, you are right. There is a pressure leak somewhere aft of the bowl. Hire a professional to troubleshoot and fix it.

If you're losing water from the toilet itself, you have a bad seal there. Overall a pretty simple system you just need to find the reason the vacuum generator is cycling.
I just noticed you're from Seabrook - we're at Blue Dolphin maybe we'll see you out on the water

I have the same boat and had the same issue. For me it was the seal right at the bowl and I could hear the suction while the valve was closed. I did not even have to replace the seal, I just made a small adjustment with the valve open and I got a better seal and its been all good ever since. hope this helps... Either way it definitely seems to be a leak in your vacuum, the pump is in your ER, should be near the holding tank.

It can also be the o-rings on the spring cartridge shaft. It is a 1/2" or so brass shaft that connects the foot pedal with the 1/2 ball in the bottom. There are 2-o-rings on shaft. Do as spikedaddy99 says and turn all off and then turn on the head. Put your ear near the pedal and you can hear a hiss.

Good to know. We are in slip i-3 and look over at Blue Dolphin. What slip are you in and we'll stop by one weekend to say hello.
