The Air Show is Back in Milwaukee for 2012 and This year, the event will include a major partnership with the U.S. Navy. The Navy has chosen Milwaukee to be one of 16 American cities taking part in the commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812. Milwaukee's part in the festivities will be Aug. 7-12, with visits from U.S. and foreign warships and tall ships, as well as a series of receptions, military concerts and galas throughout the week.

The Air & Water Show has a list of new headliners that includes the Black Diamonds civilian jet demo team, the U.S. Marine MV-22 Osprey Tilt Rotor Demonstration Team and the Navy F/A -18 Super Hornet Demonstration Team.

Looks like another fantasic show on tap this summer for McKinley Marina!

Looking forward to it! Has anyone anchored on the lake during this show in the past? We briefly anchored in the breakwater for the July 3rd fireworks but too many people were creating large wakes that made it very uncomfortable sitting out there....Has given me second thoughts about sitting anywhere out there for the airshow. Any tips?

Milwaukee has an ordinance that restricts the speed of boats in the Milwaukee Inner Harbor during special events such as fireworks displays and air shows. Boats are to slow to 5 mph and no wake rules apply two hours before, during and two hours after an event. We have had good times rafting off for fireworks and air show. The air show out side the breakwall can get quite bumpy. We make a rule of anchoring close to the police or Coast Guard to limit exposure from the clowns.
