Hi all! We bought a new 2012 230 SLX a few months ago, and we really love it. It came with the factory wakeboard tower, but it did not come with the factory wakeboard racks.

I called my dealer, and they quoted a price of nearly $900 apiece for them. XTP is the maker of the tower for Sea Ray, and they said they could not sell them to me directly.

Does anyone know of an after market rack that will work? This tower is different in that it is solid and not made of tubing like other towers. I've attached a couple of pictures of the outside and inside of the tower at the mounting locations for the factory racks. There are plastic plugs in the holes that I can't seem to get out without destroying, so I haven't taken them out yet.

Thanks for looking!

hey, everyone, same issue here. Bought a 2012 210 SLX with the one-piece tower. My parts store quoted me $1500 for a pair of racks to fit. This seems a bit out of order since on the "Build my Sea-Ray" section of the corporate webpage, the selection doesn't seem to support the price quoted by the parts dept.
Wakeboard Racks - Swivel (Only available with optional Water Sports Tower) $769.00
Anyone else have experience with find ing racks to fit?

Thanks!

Looks like we're all alone here, MCJohn309! I have a possible lead for an aftermarket rack that is supposed to fit. I'll share it once I know more.

When I talked to the XTP guy he said he could give me a better price than the dealer quoted, but they couldn't sell direct until 2014? They must have a non-compete agreement with Sea Ray or something.

Have you figured out how to remove those &^%$* plugs without destroying them?

Surely someone else out there has dealt with this?

Some non expert observations that may be of slight help.....

You guys appear to have the new "arch" design towers. It seems like the first time I saw this design on my boat is model year 2012. Previous models had the silver aluminum towers from Monster. The aftermarket may be catching up with the design change.

I have looked at some products such as factory style boat covers and canvas, as well as other items, and it seems like various things, including parts and service documentation can be difficult to come across, as suppliers may have non competes with Sea Ray on boats a certain year and newer.

Congratulations on the new boats. Seems like I was looking at a 230 with some envy at the boat show this year. Too tall for my garage door. Good for my wallet, bad for the day dreams.

Looks like the standard hole pattern that we have on our Malibu (Illusion Tower). There are a lot of aftermarket racks available in the $200/each range. Google search on Malibu Illusion Tower racks will bring up the results and you can compare mounting holes. Hope that helps and good luck.
