Last weekend my friend noticed that my bilge pump was pumping water more then usual (never). I suspected the cooling system hoses were not tight and water was leaking into the bilge. After testing it at home there was no water. Finally figured out the through hull transducer is letting water in. After closer inspection the plastic "nut" that tightens from the top has broken in half and was sliding around inside the bilge. I epoxied it in place from the bottom and top with no "nut" so I could get on the water Saturday but I now need to fix it permanently.

Anyone know the hole diameter of the traducer? I have a Garmin plotter/fishfinder that I use for depth so the factory finder isn't important. However, if I can find the "nut" and a way to slide it onto the cable and tighten I would like to keep the OEM stuff working for re-sale down the road.

My Options
1) Install a plug into the hole.
2) Find the OEM (hummingbird?) transducer "nut" or the entire transducer and replace.
3) Install a Garmin through hull transducer to hook to my echomap.

Thanks for any help.
