In the process of purchasing a 2010 390. Appreciate any comments on "what to be aware of - good and not so good" Thanks

Congratulations - the 390DA is a beautiful boat. Post some pictures when you get a chance.

We are also in the process of purchasing a 2010 390. Had our sea trial today. All went real well. Barring anything unforeseen, we will settle next weekend. Let me know how your experience goes and I'll do the same.

Only con I have is a lack of storage in the salon and in the stateroom. Lots of pros.

Keep looking. Sea Ray does a great job of hiding storage spaces.............

That is one of the drawbacks on that boat is the lack of storage in the salon. My wife was really surprised as to how little storage there is especially compared to our smaller 340. When we looked at the old 390/40 SDA you can see where the extra 6" in beam is in the storage in the salon. Overall that is a very nice boat and I agree there is more pros than cons. Congrats on your purchase

Thank you all for your comments.
I agree that the lack of storage was a surprise to us also but, as mentioned, the "pros" are still worth it. Talking to the tech that is rigging the boat he told me that several of the folks that have bought the 390 have added "decking" in the large engine room and shelves, etc. It is also a good reason to limit the amount of stuff that tends to accumulate (It took me almost 3 days to clean out my former Sedan Bridge) .http://clubsearay.com/forum/images/smilies/002.gif

Just bought the same boat...and you are right, compared to the 350 (fomerly 330) we had for a short time storage is limited. May check into the added space in engine room. Notice that the drop down TV causes issues when in use. Overall love the boat...find it easier to handle over the smaller 350. Have bow and stern thrusters and find them more instinctive to work with.

We settle on this same boat Saturday. Apparently a popular model. Mind sharing what issues you have with the drop down TV?

We love ours.....perfect size boat for us. Not sure what has changed since 2005 (our year) but you'll enjoy the boat. We went with diesels and really like them but we run a lot of hours and do some lengthy trips.

Cons:

Cabin door system stinks. Very inconvenient.

Filter access on salon A/C is very challenging.

Racors (diesels) hard to access.

Smaller starbopard tank than port and genset draws from the smaller tank. Hello Sea Ray.....what were you thinking?

Still, all-in-all a very nice vessel.

Justus2 -TV works fine...however when in use, anything in the cabinets behind it are not accessible. It takes hitting the up button and getting stuff out then hitting it again to come back down. You don't have to turn it off but I would not forget it and leave it on in the up position for an extended time.

Took it out this weekend - great boat, you will like it. Better for weekends with the private berth. I like the battery set up much better than the 350 (330).

All is going super with the new 390. It is taking some time to get accustomed to not having a Sedan Bridge The Axius is great and the seacore engines etc purr like a kitten.

We are in the process of installing a lift to keep her out of the brackish water of Charlotte Harbor and the canals. We will just add a couple of dehumidifiers to run when she is out of the water.

Happy boating !

Thanks tgalloway, we settled Saturday, spent Saturday night on it and now know what you mean about the TV. Not a bad compromise though. We'll enjoy it for one more weekend then it goes into hybernation for the winter!

I have the 38 which is the new 39. Great Boat and you find the storage is bigger than you think.

I'm sure your new location will produce the same. Shady Side (the couple of times I've been there) seems like a great place.

Hope you enjoy your new 390! We hope to enjoy ours too (difference is, we have to wait for spring)!

Howdy,
Haven't been able to boat too much in the past few months (Not boat issues) Hope to get going again later this summer.
It seems you and I are the only newly designated Three Ninetys (390s) in the Forum. I didn't realize all the designation changes that Sea Ray made over the years.
Now that you must be boating again, hopefully all is working great.
I have had an issue with the hardtop leaking and had MMX send a tech over who discovered there was no caulking under all the electronics and hatch up there. He caulked it and it's been OK during the past few Fla Downpours. Had to add a slide bolt to the stern entrance hatch to hold it closed when I left the engine hatch. Also had the CO alarms replaced and, so far, they haven't gone off on their own with the boat just sitting

you said water was leaking from the electronics and a hatch under the hardtop and the technician caulked both. what hatch and where was the water collecting? i am asking because i am leaking water and it is collecting in the aft bedroom soaking the carpet.
