2010 - 185 Sport - 4.3 Alpha Drive Won't Stay Up

Trimming works fine when boating. I store the drive in the up position on the boat lift, but after a week or so, the drive ends up in the lowest position. This also happened when I had it on the trailer and trimmed in the trailer position, I came back about a week later and the drive was all the way down. Any ideas why?

I'm not sure of the reason, but if at all possible you should store the drive in the down position so the bellows remain in a neutral position and not kinked for an extended period of time.

Although you have dry storage, this is even more important when wet slipped, keeping the drive down prevents barnacles from growing inside the expanded portion of the bellows.
