hi-

I need to replace my TV in my 280. It appears the TV thats there doesn't support digital TV. I wanted to get a new TV with a build in digital tv tuner. The installed TV is a 15". What are others replacing they're TV's with and what size?

I'd like to install a 19" but I don't know if it will fit. I don't need it to fit inside of the cabinet opening. I was planning on building an extension and put in a new mount.

Any pics of other 280's with upgraded TV's.

hi-

It appears you did install a 19" with an an extension mount on the swivel base. However, you had the old CRT. Mine came with an LCD tv but I have a digital tuner box behind the TV. The digital tuner doesn't work on DC power. Plus i can't seem to channel the channels when lying down. I need to reach around the swivel base to change the channels.

I not looking to fit a 19" inside of the same TV opening. I'm fine with it sticking out. I was just concerned about how much the 19" would overhang sides and not look proportional.

Hopefully that makes sense. It look like a 19" would be ok from you post.

Just get a digital converter box from Amazon and wire the coax from the antennae to it then to the tv. It needs a power source so if you can find a 12 volt one just install a 12 volt outlet and use 110 portable inverter. I have added several of these around my boat for cheap money and use them all the time.

i replaced old tv with a new 24in samsung smart tv, i have a converter on board as well as gen, the tv is great! and i thought i woud have to upgrade the antenna but the new tv picked up all the DYV channels ! and as an added bonus if you have a samsung phone the screen mirroring feature is great to watch amazon prime or netflix if you have signal that is. The tv pretty much covered the opening also, I just need to get some sort of strap to secure, it under way, i tried uploading pic but said file was too big
