2008 330 sundancer

Congrats on your new 33DA! The boat is very impressive! You picked the right power package with the 8.1 v-drives. A 40 mph v-drive cruiser is a rare breed! I have over 65 hrs on my 2008 Black hull 33 and love the boat. I am hard to impress also being a MarineMax/Sea Ray salesman for 8 years! Best of luck with the 33DA. I am here as a reference with any questions if you need me.

Thanks scubat- I appreciate it. We feel very good about our decision.

Was wondering if flushing the vac head when not turned on can cause the unit to lock out? This happened twice this weekend, trying to manage the 12v power while on the hook and was told to turn off EVERYTHING that we are not using. The head was flushed twice when off and I think it failed to go into a vac after that. The first time, I opened the hatch and tapped on the unit, it kicked in. This time, not luck. As well, the tank is 1/2 full, wondering if the unit is sensing a full tank when the sloshing occurs while under way and it is shutting down the vac?

It should not lock up the unit but it can make a mess as far as splattering! I leave my vacuflush key in the on position at all times. Why don't you run your genset at night while on the hook? The boat has 2 factory CO detectors but I keep a third plugged in also to be safe. Good luck!

Re: scubat

Hi scubat-

Just had the tech at the boat- a loose connection on the vac motor. Took less than two minutes to fix. Explains the intermittent operation.

As for the gen set, we find it loud and the Admiral enjoys NOT having the AC running. The 12v power is working fine. I just overdid it on the first trip out and killed the battery banks- had to use that GREAT emergency start switch to fire the port engine. What an amazing idea from SR. Since then, all seems to be working very well. Had the tech do a ful load test on all 5 batteries and all are 100%

Thanks for the follow up
