Hello
My engine hatch won't go down when I lifted it the breaker went off three times, this was after a 6 hour trip not that that should matter. Had the marina come down and checked the break which seemed ok but it wasn't getting power to the actuators leading the tech to say its a faulty switch pad. On the same switch pad are my windless switches and about a month ago my windless stopped coming up but would go down.
So it made me think that it could very well be the switch pad creating the engine hatch issue.
I started calling around to locate a new switch pad and can't find any and found out they are no longer being produced, Flouder Pounder they want to sell me all new dash pads for 5k, searched ebay and the entire internet no luck.
Now what? I can't be the only owner with this problem
I'm not 100%nsure its the Pad, I've heard it may be corroded connectors to the EMI and also that you can reset the EMI by disconnecting that battery? Which battery the main one?
Worst case can I bypass the entire system for now? I'm planning a trip and dont want this to kill the summer.
Thanks

It could be the switch pad, but could also be the EIM. I had an issue where I could not use my windlass. Tried replacing the pad, but the problem persisted. We went ahead and wired up a dedicated windlass circuit. But I know I am living on borrowed time with the EIM (the real problem with the windlass). At any rate, I now have a new, unused switch pad for the starboard side, (Nav lights/windlass, horn etc.) It is the same panel for most of the Sundancers of that era.

Yes, discontinued and all too common. What FP Marine sells is a complete system replacement for the pads and EIM.

Thanks for the quick replies- Pete I think I am headed towards the separate switch to operate the engine hatch to get me through this summer. Question- Did you do your own wiring for the windless and how difficult was it?

I had my service techs do it. I have no idea how hard it was.
