My 290 SunDec has fresh water on board. The boat is
practically new but when I fill up the fresh water tank and turn on one of the sprayers or the sink nothing comes out.

I can heaer the pump running but no water is coming out. Any ideas?

Go down to the pump when it is running and loosen the outlet side fitting on the pump (Do not remove it completely off). You may hear some air escaping and then it will start to prime. At that point tighten the fitting. You may also have check to see if your water manifold is open. It is a long track with several blue and red valves on it. Make sure the ones you want to use are open.

I had a similar problem when I got my boat. I learned 3 things....

Check to see if your filter/screen is blocked. It's a white round thing attached to the input side of the pump. It easily unscrews (make sure pump is off). I found a huge piece of silicon in mine that was blocking water flow.

Another mistake I made is that I didn't realize the hose I was using to fill the water tank was so much bigger than the actual fill hose inside the boat. So it "sounded" like the water tank was full when in reality the neck was just full and the tank only had a few gallons.

Next, it appears on my 280 that the hot water tank fills up first, so if your hot water tank was empty and you put in 10 gallons, 6 gallons would automatically fill the hot water tank and that would leave you with 4 gallons in the main tank. Therefore, if you put in less than 6 gallons, your fresh water tank would be empty. Somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what it appeared on my boat.

Anyway, I made these mistakes when I first got my boat, but after finding these three things, the problem was fixed..

I agree with nauydog, I discovered silcon like substance clogging my filter. I had to run it then clean screen several times before water ran entirely normal.

I just had a similiar experiance on my 27 da , my prob was I filled the tank but didnt over fill, ( untill water overflowed) turned out the air pocket was in the filler hose, and make sure you put your filler cap back on.

You can put a hose on the fresh water outlet in the rear compartmant and backfill. It forces the water through all faucets ( make sure they are open) then hit your pump and it should work. Sometimes the pump loses prime if you ran it dry.
