Hi all. New to the club, first post and all that.
I've been searching threads for clues to this one and haven't seen anything in the previous threads (apologies if I missed one...). We recently purchased a "new to us" 2008 205 Sport equipped with the factory XTP tower. However, there are 3 sets of wires running into the tower. Given that one is the lighting circuit, what are the other two? I can't find a hint in the wiring diagrams, and haven't had the chance to cut the "boots" off the other two (they are bundled and tie-wrapped under the starboard gunwale under the cockpit) to determine if they are power or speaker wires. There are also two rubber plugs (that appear stock) in the bottom of the upper cross braces that connect the fore and aft horizontal main tubes of the tower. Are these pre-drilled for pulling through speaker or light wires? Any help is greatly appreciated, as my son is already contemplating whether to go with Kicker, Polk, or WS tower speakers, LOL! (pics coming soon)

I, too, say Welcome and ROLL TIDE!!!!

Just reading your thread, you've scored a great boat! It should bring many years of enjoyable experiences on the water!

Let's get to the good stuff, shall we... As far as I know, I have NEVER seen a tower, from ANY manufacturer, have speaker wires that were pre-run without having tower speakers installed. When we purchased our 2006 195, the only wires that were already ran were for the anchor light thats mounted to the XTP Tower. I had to run all my speaker wires (for the 6 tower speakers) and I had to run the wiring harness leads to run all 6 of the plexiglass LED speaker rings that are mounted on those 6 speakers! Not a hard job to do, just time consuming!

There may be others on the forum that may chime in, that may have seen speaker wires "pre-run", but as for me, I've never seen it in all the years I've been boating.

Good luck with the search... Let us know what you find out or come up with!

Pic's of the boat, please...

Funny...we just picked up a new to us 08 205 and it has exactly what you describe. I have been too busy trying to clean the floor up (lots of pitch/tar/creosote oil/etc) to notice. I did pull one of the upper "plugs" and there wasn't a wire harness immediately attached to it.

I'll try to look in the coming days.
