I am looking at 2007 Sundeck 200 and was wondering how to make sure the motor and cooling system is not damaged from use in Sea Water. The gentleman that showed it to me is a partner in the boat and did not have much information, but knows the boat was used in salt water. The boat is super clean and runs well. The out drive was just replaced and has is just past to 10 hour break in period. The trailer is in poor shape and has had to have to structure repaired due to heavy corrosion. So the outdrive being replaced and the trailer have me concerned. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
David

If the trailer is like you describe< I would wonder what care the engine was attended. How does the the rest of the boat look?

You should have a qualified marine mechanic look at the boat. He should at least do a compression check and boroscope the cylinders. Was the complete outdrive replaced including the lower unit and transom bracket replaced? What is the price?

That is my concern Banagy, but the boat is super clean. I have not seen the underside of the boat yet as it was mored at a private dock on lake Conroe. I plan to have them trailer it so I can get a good look.

Good question Jimandsue60. I need to ask. They are asking 24,900. I do plan to take to a qualified technician to get it checked out. How does the asking price look to you?

I did a quick search and found a few 2007 200 SD for @ 32K. 24,900 seems like a great asking price. You did not say how many hours are on it. When you take the boat on a sea trial make sure you run it at WOT to see if the cooling system is working properly.

it has 150 hrs. I already ran it on a sea trial and ran at WOT for about 5 minutes with no issues. Was that long enough to see a temperature issue?
