I need to plan on the replacement of this AC unit which is located in the bulk head between the salon and aft cabin. There is an access hatch to clean the filter but it will not accommodate the replacement of the unit. Does anyone know how this is accomplished?

Unfortunately, I can't help with this. But I am interested to know how it's done, mine's fairly rusty. No doubt I'll be looking to replace it soon enough.

Discovered this on a friends 480 last weekend
Access to this unit is a major issue on this boat.
I think its a capacitor issue but can not locate it for the salon init

Emailed Searay and the salon couch and end table need to be removed in order to access. They sent a reference drawing in regards file is too large to attach. Going to plan this in the off season.

Man i would love to see that diagram as I need to work on that unit as well. If i send you a IM with my email would you send it to me?

Ok so tackled this job yesterday. Looked at Searay drawings and couch does not need to come out. You can take rear cushion off to access 4 small screws under phone jack and 1 of the long bolts. Then the fun part is getting the other 3 bolts off. Once you loosen the nuts they come right off. Its getting your arm behind the AC unit. However once you loosen the tabs holding the AC in place you can slide it around and its not so bad I circled the 4 bolts and the 4 little lines are the 4 screws. Once this is done end table comes right out. Once this was complete taking the water lines and vent hose off was a breeze and the control box which will be replaced is right there. I cleaned us the area which was filthy and put it all back together. I went with the Dometic 16000 btu replacement unit, not the turbo. All in all took about 5 hours but i started the day before by getting a look at things. I also cleaned the area well and took a coffee break of two. Hope this helps.

Hi Rocket... I am in the middle of replacing the Salon AC unit on my 2007 48 sundancer... do you still have those drawings? Or any words of advice... couch is out, end table is out.. still don't see the success path. Please send to decoboatcharters@aol.com or whatsapp 3057934437 for large files.
Thanks, Tedsnider01@gmail.com

So does that whole wood panel come off then or you remove the unit from the bedroom once you get the hoses off?
