2007 205 Sport / 2005 200 Sport Wakeboard Tower

Hello all - My name is Ryan, and I'm fairly new to these forums and the boating community (although I've been reading along since last summer).

I purchased a 2007 205 Sport last summer without the wakeboard tower. Last fall, I purchased the wakeboard tower off of a 2005 200 Sport. The Sea Ray parts manuals available from Sea Ray's website show that they are one in the same (the part # is still on the tower, too!). Xtreme Towers has told me that Sea Ray ordered the same tower from 2005-2007, and switched to the "205 Sport" tower in 2008. I'm fairly confident it's the same tower..Sea Ray will admit that my boat has the reinforced fiberglass, although they won't admit that the tower will fit.

The dealers close to me are willing to install the tower, but I need to come up with new hardware. Xtreme will not sell directly, and I've gotten the run-around at the Marine Max closest to me. Stainless steel nuts and bolts should be easy enough to come by, but what about those rubber gaskets?

Thought I would post to see if anyone has had a similar experience or advice. I've searched and read and searched again on these forums for anything related to the subject of wakeboard towers.

Contact Monster Tower directly. They are excellent people to deal with and are sister companies with Extreme towers.

I know this isn't too close to you, but there is a place in Clear lake that custom builds fishing towers and from what I've heard wakeboard towers. They may be able to supply you with the gasket material. You may have to use the attachment points as a template. The place is called Tops and Towers. I tried to pull up a site, but came up short.

Then again you probably could pick up some rubber corkboard at H.D. and use that... just a thought.

If other avenues don't pan out, can't your local dealer just order the hardware kit from a 2005 for you?

I too would suggest you contact Monster Tower. My marina sheared off two of the bolts used to attach my wakeboard racks to the tower. Extreme shipped me 4 new ones same day - cost only $1 including shipping!

Offer to pay for new bolts and hardware when you contact XTP - new SS bolts in the large size are ~$15 a piece...the guys there are good folks.
