2007/2008 Lake Level Water Problems

Lake Murray is closing in on 356 ASL, which is quite high for this time of year. 358' ASL is our normal pool.

Water level is looking better on our lake in SE Alabama. We had an awful year last year but we are actually 3.5 feet above winter pool and only 6.5 below full pool. I know 6.5 sounds bad to some but we're rising every day with water being released above us. Keep praying for rain!

With all the rain we have had the last couple of weeks, all the lakes along the Catawba River basin have recovered nicely now including our lake, Lake Wylie, which was the slowest to gain water back. Every lake is now over seasonal levels. It looks like this might be intentional in case the spring rains are not sufficient to bring lakes up to full pond. Our lake is now about a half-foot over it's normal level. So unless the situation gets worse along the Catawba, I am happy to report this will be my last post about the lakes in our area.

Now.........it's time to head out on the boat for a few hours this afternoon and enjoy the water.
