2006+ Searay 380 Sundance engine options

2006+ Searay 380 Engine Options: 8.1 vs 8.1 HO

Hello, I'm in the market for a 2006 or newer Searay 380 Sundancer. There are two gas engine options - 8.1 at 370HP and 8.1 HO at 420HP. Most have the 370HP engines. I would appreciate anyone's feedback on these engine options and there experience. Should I be patient and pay more for one with 420HP motors or are the 370HP motors just fine? Thanks in advance.

My neighbor has a 2006 38DA with the 420HP motors. That thing is like a sports car. You'd better be holding on to something when he hits the throttles to get on plane or you'll be rolling out of the transom door.

Too bad you are on the left coast. He's actually considering selling.
