2006 Searay 180 3.0 merc help!

I have started having some problems with the engine this season with the engine and wonder if someone could point me in a direction. I do pretty much all the maintenance myself and pretty confident working on engines.

Here is the symptoms:
1. It will start, but the die 1-3 times (on average)
2. When it does startup fine I try giving it gas and it dies again 1-2 times (on average)
3. Sometimes idling it is noisy for like 5-15minutes ( a guess on my part) it seems to idle better.

Only thing I can think of is either fuel filter/seperator OR carb mixture needs adjusting. Can't figure out how to tackle this.

Yes, we don't have ethanol free in the area.

Start with a complete tune up. All filters,Plugs, wires,rotor cap. timing everything. Check your compression while you have the plugs out for future reference. Then adjust the carb
