I purchased the outboard with my 2006 340 Sundancer last year. The outboard ran once, but apparently I ran bad gas through it. I have been chasing down issues for over a year now. I recently cleaned the carb and now fuel is flowing to the cylinders again. It will start now and runs well at idle, but once the engine is warmed, it will either shut down or start skipping. I am using fresh gas and have added SeaFoam to the gas to continue cleaning out the fuel lines. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Ya - had the same thing happen with my Honda 9.9. I tried to "use up" some 2 yr old non treated fuel and gummed the carb up. I too removed and disassembled the carb - the trick is to soak it with automotive carb cleaner and blow out all the passages with compressed air. Once I did that, I have always used startron and it starts on the first pull and runs great - as an aside I am typically not a fan of "snake oil" mechanic in a bottle type fixes, but startron is great, I use it on every fill up in the dinghy and sundancer.....with ethanol based fuels its a necessity.

SeaFoam! gotta love a product that really works. Ran some SeaFoam in the fuel let it sit for a week, started the engine again. One sputter and then it ran clean! What a wonderful sound. Have been enjoying the dinghy ever since.
