I just got my boat out for the season and everything was okay until I decided to take her out for the first time. Everything was normal as I slowly increased speed to the point where the bow dropped and I started to trim her out (At this point the boat is going roughly 15mph and at 3000RPM). Then all of a sudden my port engine started to stumble. It would lose 1000rpm then recover then lose it again. This action occurred every few seconds until I lower the RPM to 2500 or so then it ran like a champ. It doesn't seem thought it is backfiring but with all the sounded deadening it is hard to say no at 100%. I put new fuel/water separator filters in right before taking the boat out. The fuel in the boat is a year old but at 4 months I treated it then again in November with both tanks full over the winter. Both engines have separate tanks with no connection between them. If it is a fuel issue I would think I would be having the problem on the other side since the fuel in both tanks have been treated identically over the course of the year. The port engine starts fine and idles great. The engines have just under 100 hours and when I put it away last year everything was fine. Any ideas or past experience would be greatly appreciated.
