My good friend at my marina has that boat with 8.1 v-drives. Awesome boat. ONLY thing I've seen him have an issue with over the years is the vinyl on one of his wrap around cushions coming apart a couple times.

I have a 340 but it is 2003. Bought it with 110 hours on it and it was like new.

Get a survey, I did not and now I regret it. Apparently the previous owner got sick and let some of the routine maintenance go. Impellers were NEVER changed! He used Wal-Mart spark plugs so both engines failed last fall.

Having moved up from a 260 DA to this...WE LOVE IT!!

Great for entertaining, coving out, etc.

I bought a new 340 in 05. Have not any problems. Just routine maintance and I did replace the rear and front isunglass (4 panels). Great boat.

I have a 2003 bought used with 80 hours 3 years ago. Awesome boat, a good performed with the 8.1s and V-Drives. 28 mph cruise at optimal fuel burn.
My survey was a rubber stamp as boat was like new, but still a good idea to have a survey. Another 340 owner I know has broken 3 prop shafts, apparently a misalignment issue between engine, trans and shafts. Fixed now and was good all last season.
