Having issues with pulling skiers in this boat.
Don't know if prop is the issue.
Boat runs well when not trying to pull anyone.
A few nicks on my current prop
What size prop should I consider if at all?
Any help is appreciated.

Maybe if you could post the size of your current prop along with your wide open rpm's and your speed. That info will help determine what prop to get for a better hole shot.

I thought I'd post some handy links to the Sea Ray website, but it is down tonight. If you have the carb engine, you have the same as mine, in possibly a slightly lighter boat. I have no problems with skiers at all. If you have the MPI, you have I think 20 more HP than mine.

Blaster's thought on giving us more on your current prop is right. Also, a few facts on are you new to this, the boat, etc., and what is the problem. If the boat is new to you, the Sea Ray website should tell you what prop was standard (see their excellent archives). Generally, the prop was aluminum with the carb, and stainless with the MPI. I have a heavily optioned carb 5.0 with the stainless.

I dinged my prop pretty good last year. Sent it to http://www.propmd.com/ and had excellent cost effective service. In the process, I learned that my hub kit (specifically the drive sleeve was stripped) needed replacement. The drive sleeve is a sacraficial slip joint if you hit your prop.

Also, if your hole shot is lacking, and the boat is new to you, you may need a tune-up. I bought mine used last year, but just 40 some hours and always garage stored, so it was like new - and the owner had never done much of anything to it, so a complete tune up was helpful.

Technique, using the trim may also have some impact. I usually do my hole shot with the trim full down. Trim up a bit on plane.

High five stainless will give you much better hole shot than stock. This should help a bunch.
