2005 340...where is the companionway light?

In the cluster of switches at the helm that control the arch lights and cockpit lights there is a companionway switch. Where is the companionway light? :huh:

There are switches that have no purpose. They are used on multiple models.

I don't have that switch. From memory the four light switches are the arch, cockpit, bilge and transom locker.

Thanks guys. I don't have a light in the transom locker, but that would be nice. Yes, the arch, cockpit, and bilge are right there. Skolbe, you're probably right, it's not used on mine. I'll research more on the world wide interweb and if I find something different I'll post back.

I just searched Sea Ray 340 companionway light and found that the companionway is the essentially the steps leading to the cabin. I know their is a light at the base of the head and along the floor etc. I also know that for most of the lights, including those, the batteries have to be on. I think there's one house light whose switch is in the galley. Anyway, I wonder if that companionway switch powers those floor lights. I've never looked there, I've always focused in the cockpit area.

How to I find replacement steps foe the galley, 2005 Sea Ray 340? The weld broke on my 4th step going down into the galley. I can't even find a manual to see how it can be installed.

Mine broke also.

I have figured out how to detach the step from at the bottom. The carpeted ring-shaped trim pieces are screwed down with utility screws buried in the nap of the carpet. The top I have not figured out. It is buried in the ceiling. I am thinking I will have to widen that hole and cover it later with something. Once it is out, you take it to a welder. I am pretty sure the whole thing is aluminum. My welder would not do the job "in place".

different model and year but my "companion" light switch is for my transom locker as well... seems like a common wiring scheme.
