hello new 340 owner here and survey didnt catch bad batteries..
i need to replace my batteries after having to get jumped , first time taking her out for the holiday weekend and had to call boat us to get jumped so i could return home. , I have a magnum inverter/charger system that has 4 -6v batteries and tag says h2gc -6v 210 ah @20hrs 175 @ 5hrs , i assume this starts generator and also makes inverter work. i have 2 port side group 27 and 2 starboard 27s (starboard dated 5/18 and port not dated but looks old (i was on the hook for 3 days and starting generator once a day to charge but the 4 -6v batteries went dead and the port 27s went dead) after one night only frig and water pump on... generator no start and port side engine no start. My question is the 27s should be group 31 ? right on 340?. switching to AGM batteries so should buy the dual purpose? Also have to set the magnum charger to reflect what type batteries installed, confused about starting batteries an house batteries or does agm dual cover that? and which 6v batteries to get, thanks for any advice!

If you've got 6V batteries on your 340 I don't expect that is a stock configuration. A prior owner had something custom installed.

I'd expect your 340 came from the factory with only the 4 group 27's for house/starting and an additional group 25 (maybe smaller) to start your generator.

I'd want to fully understand what that 6V bank of batteries is doing on your boat before I buy/replace anything.

agreed,.. looks like magnum using bank of 6v for inverter system but need to verify all this
