I recently purchased my 32 DA, moving up from a 24 and really enjoying it. My question is in looking at a few other Sea Ray's I noticed that there is a flapper in the exhaust discharge opening on the outside of the boat on both the port and starboard side which is clearly visible. On my boat they don't exist. Should they be there or are they internal. Not sure if they fell out or internal on my year and model. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Are your exhaust thru hulls Stainless steel on the outside? If so see the link below (read from post#5 down). There is only one guy in the US that can get them as a spare part rather ordering the entire exhaust assembly. They are about $12/each. Not a real great design because they do tend to fall out after a number of years when the rubber dries out and some have sealed in the new ones with adhesive but mine held up for 6 years without falling out so I did not seal mine.

There are 2 sizes, I think the engine exhaust is 3" and the Generator is 2" if memory serves me correctly.

Jason thanks for the response. The exhaust are through hull, gas mercruisers. I called southco apparently they are having issues getting them from their supplier who wants to sell the entire exhaust. The sent me to ugly fish but have not been able to speak with anyone. Wish me luck. You would think this would be an easy one.:smt100

Yes, I went through the same fiasco. Ugly Fish is the only place that can get just the flapper. Hard to believe but true. Good news is that he stocks them.

hi everyone so here is where I ended up. I spoke with South Company and they sent me to Ugly Fish. These guys are great, very patient and helpful. They have both the exhaust flappers for the engines, mine are 3" and the 2" version for the generator. You are right, this is the only game in town. My SeaRay dealer did not have a part number. When he sends over the email I will post the part numbers.:smt038

Also, it looks like the originals had adhesive holding them in. Any suggestions as to what to use?

I just went to the local hardware store and got some two part epoxy. Has held 4 years.
