My lofran project 1000 seems to be stuck. How should i start diagnosing this issue.

Maybe more information is needed?

I didnt have a manual and instead of acquiring one i tried to figure it out, bad idea. I have a manual now.

The 2005 lofran project 1000 has a center locking nut and a off center star.

The center nut can be loosened to engage free fall mode. However, now the windlass will only do free fall. Even after resetting locking nut then tensioning using the off set star.

Basically, the windlass now seems to be stuck. Now when i engage the windlass up/down it will make one tick like sound with no movement in the windlass.

Can a 1500lb windlass get stuck? What am i doing wrong? Any help would be great, thank you community.

HAve you treid both the foot switches and at the helm? There is a pancake fuse in the anchor locker that if bad will leave the foot switches inop. There is a Hi Amp breaker in the ER that will trip.

i have tried the foot buttons. They have no reaction when used. However, a one tick sound can be heard when using the controls at the helm.

Your recommendation is to find and reset the high amp breaker in the er?

I am fairly familiar with the er but can not find any tripped breakers on the main panel. Does the windlass have a separate breaker?

I was able to find the reset switch sticking out of the windlass breaker located above the batteries.

Everything is working great now. Thank you Bucit!

Many thanks, I had the same problem and once I found the circuit breaker it solved it.
