This coming spring I want to replace my throttle/trim control - getting old and faded. I have never done such a thing before so am wondering if this is a dealership thing or DIY. Also ,any suggestions on brand or what I should look for in a brand?? I like the new merccruiser controls - they have one in black/chrome.
Mine is side mount like most bowrider style boats.

I am assuming cables to control the throttle and trim but new stuff could be digital - drive by wire I think it's called - any suggestions on what I should be looking for or special tools I will need??
