2004 Sea Ray 260DA...Opinions?

Judging by the (very clean ) condition I don't think it will go for less than $45K with the trailer.

I want the arch. Looks like a very nice boat. Price seems reasonable.

SWW, Throw the offer you want to pay. See if they take it.
If it was me I'd low-ball them and go from there. :smt001

Are you trading your boat in ???

I threw them an offer of $40K.

Can't trade in my boat, this is a brokerage boat.

What I did find odd is that the boat is being sold out of Nashville, IL (Illinois, not Tennessee) but the reg on the boat is "SC XXXX..." Which tells me it is registered in South Carolina. Maybe the guy relocated and is now selling the boat? But should I be concerned if this boat was used in salt water?

Did they accept your offer ??

That I can't help you with. I've always been a freshwater baby. :smt001

Haven't heard back yet. We exchanged a couple e-mails and I made the offer after hours yesterday.

I will ask about where it was used (fresh vs salt water). If it was used in salt water, I will make extra sure it was fully maintained and inspected, and won't budge above $40K.

Good Luck I hope you get it !!. :smt001
When we had the Baysinker 2150 aft cabin & then bought my current boat.
It was like moving into a castle. You'll love the roominess of the bigger boat.

I use mine in saltwater 99% of the time. I flush within 1 hour of taking it out and getting her home. Ask about the routine they had. If maintained it's nothing to worry about. The ad doesn't state many details about use, wether the engine has closed cooling on it or any images of the engine or engine bay.
Best of luck

Then I guess you are prepared to loose the deal if the owner won't budge? I have to tell you that a set up like that is going to be hard to duplicate at that price ($40K) but it is your money not mine.

Anyone have any idea how much this boat/trailer weigh?

I would like to go get it and trailer it home, but my truck is only rated for 8500 lbs.

It is a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 VortecMax 6.0 liter. It would be rated for 10,600 lbs if I had chosen the 4.10 gears, but like a dumba$$ I ordered it with 3.73 gears. It does have the heavier duty tranny (4L70E) with external cooler, engine oil cooler, 4 wheel disc brakes, 9.5" rear end, etc.

Oh, and it does have over 400HP (not completely stock ).

yep, I am not in a big hurry or desperate. I can and will wait for a deal. They are out there.

Mine is 8440 on my trailer attached to my truck with just the boat on the scale.

OK, so assuming your tongue weight is at or near the 10% range, your boat/trailer weigh around 9300 lbs.

I wouldn't want to tow this with a 1/2 ton on a regular basis, but I could get her home and make short infrequent trips with it.

Assuming the 2004's aren't significantly heavier.

Thanks!

fwiw you may want to inquire as to the year of the boat. . . in that ad one place says 04 and another says 06

Betcha its an 04 for that price..even so thats a beaty and she looks so clean 2with only 100 hours!! A connecticut guy was trying to move a 05 260 with no ac and 150hrs for $50K with no trailer. Even if you got in with low $40Ks with trailer thats not too bad!!! :smt038

I agree with Todd about the engine and engine room... the outside looks pretty good but inside too....
as for the registation.....
My boat is registered in Arizona... I live in California.... I was under the impression you should register where you boat the most- that could be the discrepancy.
Towing- I think you could get it home and do SHORT and or SLOW infrequent tows but IMO that tow vehicle is not quite enough(sorry).
And I agree that you need to rectify the model year.
The zincs look good in the pics plus they have the prop acorn.

If you really want this one... look in that bilge and inspect the trailer brakes- if the brakes are shot it might give you some room.. I think your offer of $40k is reasonable... first glance also looks like this is a really nice boat with lots of features and low hours and a trailer so a little wiggle room up to $45k should be at least considered.

I would think that is just enough to tow it. Ive seen on the net folks towing 260s with F150s. Dont see how thats not "enough" just taking it easy @ 55 with plenty of distance ahead of you. The Sierras powered by a more potent motor also over the fords triton.
