2004 340 w/6.2s engine shuts down

My friend has a 340 with 6.2 stern drives. When running along the starboard motor just shuts down, no error codes. It then is hard to start. We noticed one of the fuel relay pins was burned, he replaced it and all seemed fine for a while then it started again, relay failed again. we are thinking the fuel pump is the problem? This only happens when the boat has been run for a while. Any suggestions appreciated...

May very well be a fuel pump. I would replace the pump first and go from there. Had the same problem. Only difference, is it cost 3 times more since I called a mechanic.

Happened to me a couple of weeks ago, but I have 8.1s, check/change fuel filters

We changed the filters first.

I would also start with replacing the fuel pump.
