I'm heading out this weekend to look at a Fresh Water 2004 340 Sundancer that my friends are looking to purchase. They pretty much have a deal on it contingent on survey, sea trial and of course us not finding anything wrong. I'm wondering if there are any issues with that model and year to look for. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Pretty solid boat. I have a couple friends that have this same model on the river. They really haven't had any issues with them other than normal maintenance items. Does the boat have 8.1's - if so confirm that it is truly 100% freshwater. The 8.1's had aluminum manifolds that don't hold up in salt water. Only other issue I have seen is with the painted windshield frames can have some corrosion on the aluminum frame. It is a great boat.

I'll agree with above report. Only issues we've had with '05 were easily fixed. Lights switches & AC pan replacement.

Side note...ours may be for sale soon.

We had a 2004 34 Dancer - it was our first boat. It honestly is a great boat. Handles well, goes quick, easy to dock and everything worked as advertized. I had no complains with that boat - other than size. We are a family of 4 so we upgraded to a larger boat.

The boat is at the Lake. Marine Max is taking it on trade.

Kadey-Krogen 36 Manatee, under contract. We'll keep it on our lake for another yr or so before moving it to the coast. Seller did a lot in 7 yrs to get the boat ready to cruise & survey has documented the items needing repair or upgrade.

We thank Frank W for leading us through the negociations to obtain a reasonable deal.

The Manatee burns 1.25 gals diesel per hr at 7 kts plus is huge inside. Not the prettiest boat but for cruising economically it's one of the best.

We love our 2004 340 DA. It's the perfect boat for a couple to spend week-ends on. Remember that the 04 340 is actually the 370 340 now so I guess that makes it a plus. We have 8.1 V-Drives and all the bells and whistles. Since we boat in the Chesapeake Bay we will be replacing our exhaust manifolds this year as a preventive maintenance issue. Only other issue is that the TV is analog so it must be replaced or add a converter. They are not that expensive. Good luck with the purchase and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

What is going to take to get it to the coast? Just asking.

$$$...big trailer & removing the top of the pilot house & electonics. Not sure where we'll start, depends on the time of yr, HOU, Mobile, maybe TN & do the river system 1st. Avoiding the coast during hurricane season is a factor.
