Can anyone help me I need to remove the switch panels to put new ones in and I’m not sure how to take them out

There should be nut behind them... accessible from up under the dash.

The switch panels to the port and starboard of the helm? They are held in place by 6 (I believe) nuts and washers. Removing the electrical connectors for the ignition rocker switches can be a bit tricky, a small screwdriver helps but is not required. Careful with the woodgrain covering, it gets fragile with age and the new switch panels come with a generic black plastic replacement.

Thanks
stuck my phone in there to capture some pics
another tight space as usual

Your best friend will be a set of 1/4" drive deep sockets and those ratcheting box end wrenches as the bolts are real long.

I would like to know what is the best sfuff to use to glue the flat side of the bolt head back down to the inside of the panel? Some of mine came off and I wasn't sure if 5200 was the right stuff to hold them or not.

Best of luck with yours.

I would not use 5200 on the screws as that is permanent and for underwater. You may want to remove them sometime again. I would use loctite or some regular silicone adhesive.

At least on my boat the bolts on the back of the helm panel are hidden fastners so they do not show on the front side. They come from the factory with some type of adhesive which over time loosens up and they drop off. The bolts just push through holes in the dash and are held on with a washer and a nut on the back side.

I didn't mean to indicate using the 5200 on the thread portion of the bolt, just the flat head portion where it attaches to the back of the dash panel. I think they installed it this way so it is a clean looking flush fit with no screw heads visible. You pretty much have to be a contortionist to reach the nuts from whatever access you have from the back of the helm. I couldn't see any of mine so I just felt all the way around until I got them all off.
