2003 bow rider 6.2l mpi bravo 3 "reliability" question

HELLO..I'd appreciate any feed back on the following....I'm considering buying a "03 bow rider.....it's got 105 Hrs.....I assume it's always been used in salt water..dry stored....the boat is cosmetically 9.5+...very nice....well optioned....
...looking at the engine service/maintenance manual....there's a lot of potential
possibilities for repairs or costs......I'll have it serviced per Merc...but....am i looking at hi or low possibility for misc repairs?.....I guess my question is...how reliable is the 6.2 MPI and related elect/cooling systems?....thank you...Mike

My biggest interest would be the state of the exhaust and cooling systems. See if you can find the last time the exhaust manifolds and risers/gaskets were replaced. Same for the raw water cooling impellar. Quite possibly none of them have been changed since it only has 105 hours. Could be used as price negotiation items. Everyone has their own view on when to replace those, but for lowest risk reduction it seems popular to go every 2 years for the impellar, every 3 years for the risers, and every 5 years for the manifolds. Also, just go ahead and replace the oil and filter and gear lube to start out your ownership with fresh fluids. Reasonably inexpensive (especially if you do it yourself).

ZZ13.......good information.....Yep...I'll get a good going over and service before i take it out...I'm sure the manifolds/risers are the original ones...i'd like to think they'll make it a couple more years...but...it's like you said...."risk reduction".....thank you..

My dad has twin 6.2s in his formula. It is a 02 model. Salt water use. Manifolds / risers changed after 5 years. Water pumps every year. Replaced both alt and one starter. Not bad for a ten year old motors in salt water. Just flush and use the boat a lot. They do not like to sit around
