Does anyone know if a 2003 - 2004 340 DA can be lifted out of the water by using a trailer at a ramp? Or does the boat need to be travel lifted?

It's got a 12'beam and is about 15,500lbs without fuel and water...I wouldn't feel comfortable hauling out on a trailer though I'm sure it's been done. ..Travel lift would be the way to go..but be careful when they set the slings to lift her..On my 320, the factory marked the rear sling area incorrectly and if it wasn't caught and changed the sling could have damaged the shafts.

Freshwater folks do it all the time. Most people who own trailers don't want 6 hubs, axles and brake sets in salt water and prefer to use a forklift as a first option over a travel lift due to cost ....$50 for forklift loading vs. $8/ft for a travel lift. Prices may vary where ever you are.

Also, pulling the boat up a wet, slime covered ramp becomes more of a problem than can a trailer haul the boat.

Thanks for the responces,
The reason I am asking is If I purchase it at the end of the season I would like a hauler to bring the boat to my house and block it there. This way I can do all the matence on the engines, oil changes, winterize bottom paint etc. The owner of a 34 wllcraft told me that it could not be done because the shafts and props would hit the ramp. The haulers that I have seen have trailers that lift the boat with hydrolic type pads near the stern. So if it can be haulked at my ramp then I have the option of purchasing one. Otherwise I have to look at the 320 instead.

My In-laws have their 340 hauled for winter storage with a hydraulic trailer. Another couple at their marina own a trailer and haul their 400 Express. Ramp choice and the tow vehicle are some of the major hurdles but can be overcome fairly easy.

Every boat in Lake Cumberland Ky is put in via trailer unless a crane is brought in. Attached are pics of my 340 being pilled for bottom paint- notice the tire arraingment on the trailer. - it was not much fun pulling up to the trailer (with snow blowing) and making sure I didn't pull too far up and hit the underwater exhaust ports with the trailer bunks.

Check with some folks on the Western US mountain and desert lakes in CA, NV and AZ ... there are a bunch of folks who trailer 380DAs ... so with the right trailer, ramp and rig you can do it ...
