So Saturday we fired and ran out to a cove for a few hours. Went to leave and the starboard engine wouldn't start. It was cranking just fine but wouldn't fire up. We limp back to the slip on one engine. Had a friend come over and try to help figure out what was going on. He bumped the throttle as I was starting the engine and it fired up but horrible screaming coming from the belt. Top pulleys were turning but belt was not. I cut the belt off and can turn all pulleys by hand except the raw water pump. My questions are:
1. Is the not starting issue most likely related to the water pump seizing up?
2. Is the water pump mostly likely an impeller or shaft/ bearing issue?

Thanks for the help all!

Probably time for a new water pump.

If u were in very shallow water u may have sucked up some of the bottom into that seawater pump and seized it up. Happen to me couple yrs ago.

Water pump can be very stiff moving, in a clockwise direction.
This is the bearing seal kit # 8m0050018 if it's the gen 7 brass pump
