Looking to find a new prop for my boat. I want to have a good hole Shot for wakeboarding and just overall cruising.

Please advise!

Mercury 19 Pitch High five stainless propeller

I'd also check out the Mercury Enertia. I put one on my 185 with the little 3.0 liter, and it transformed my boat.

Here's some info from Mercury: http://www.mercurymarine.com/servic...aintenance/faqs/mercruiser/?category=propping
How can I improve hole-shot and top speed performance?
No single propeller can deliver both optimum hole-shot and top speed performance, with the exception of the Enertia. You will need to decide which of these performance aspects is more important to you and select a propeller that is best suited for that purpose. You may visit the propeller section of this site for additional information on the Enertia and all other propellers.

What pitch did you get. I have stock Black Max at 19 pitch and propfinder says to get either the 20 or 21 pitch Enertia. Interesting, all other props recommended (High Five, Vengeance, etc) are 19 pitch. Anyone know why the larger pitch for the Enertia?

I got the 19 pitch.

The rake on the Enertia is enough that you will not be able to use the fin shaped annode above your prop. You'll have to replace the fin shaped annode with a round (flush) annode. They're about $8 to replace, and held on with one bolt.

What gear ratio do you folks have? My 97 has 1.94 gears and with a 19" High Five and normal load in the boat I can't go WOT and get 37MPH GPS at 4800rpm. WOT looks to be at least 5100 rpm but I backed it down as it was still climbing. I switched back to my aluminum 20" Vortex 4blade and it revs just shy of 4800 and tops out at 40. That puts prop slip at 17% with the H5 and 19% with the Vortex.

I have the 23P High Five. I can easily hit 50+ with only 2 people, however, WOT is around 5200. I dont run at 4800 or higher very long. I thought about changing to get WOT back down to 4800, but I dont watn to loose any hole shot.
