Looking at buying this boat. The boat is in immaculate condition and is being sold by the original owner. 700 hours on the engine. Trailer is included. Is this a lot? Asking price is $49,900. Currently own a 24' Chaparral and looking to upgrade. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I sold the same boat 4 years ago with the 5.7 liter engines for much less. It was immaculate as well, with around 400 hours. No trailer though.

High retail for our area, fresh water use is a little over $52k, with a trailer. I've see a couple online for a little less, but the condition is no match. Thanks for your input.

In our area, the NADA for this boat with trailer is a little over $52k. It really is clean. I was very impressed with the engine room and how clean it was for a boat that is 14 years old. Any other advice? Thanks.

No comment on price, but check how well the cabin door opens and closes. The door rolls on a track with little truck wheels at the bottom. If they are in bad condition, it's a pain and involved process to change them. (Have to remove the cover panel, and wetbar side of the boat per a thread on here.) Also check the seals/caulking around the base of the windshield and around the "skylights" in the deck. If it's dry or coming out in chunks you may get leaks in the cabin. That's not a big deal to do.

I'll assume that vintage Sea Ray is still in the age range where deck rot was quite common. Particularly around the windshield and windlass.

Have you reviewed the pros/cons of stern drives vs V drives? Drive type can impact resale value depending on where you're at. A 300 is approaching the size where "most" (my reading/experience only?) buyers are leaning toward V drives.

Do you need to be able to trailer it? That size boat requires a permit to tow. Perhaps you already know this but I thought I'd mention.

Get a good survey and go from there. Keep in mind that it's getting quite late in the boating season for us northerners. Getting high retail at this point in the year is probably going to be harder for a seller.
