454 Bravo1 4KW Kohler, AC
What do you think?
What would the boat be worth?

It is fresh water boat and will be used on fresh water. Seems like a lot of motor to me.

One thing that I am concerned about is corrosion issues with a B3. Can they be kept in check with regular maint of the anodes?

A 2000 SR 310 w/454'&b3 plus radar that is on our lake was being auctioned off on e-bay. A friend of mine was trying to get it. He missed out, the boat went for $41,200.
375 hours on engines, 425 on the genny. Somebody got a good deal.

An '02 with 7.4's? The last year you could officially get the 454's was '01. In '02 6.2's were the biggest motors. Mine was special ordered with 496's as an "altitude package" for Colorado. The 496's are not at all too much motor, and the fuel burn at cruise is the same as the smallblocks.

The drive issue has been discussed on CSR at length. In short, BIII's require care and attention when kept in freshwater.... much more so in salt. The bilge space on a 310 with smallblock Vdrives is atrocious, but big blocks and outdrives have excellent access.

A 310 itself is a particularly comfortable, stable and soft-riding vessel. It's 11'2" beam and 23 degree hull is a good combination. The cored hull sides can be controversial, but it certainly makes a solid boat. She exhibits very little flex. In fact, other boaters who have been on it have often pointed that out out of the blue.

I would buy another, as I have been very pleased with mine.

I have B3 in fresh water and no issues. Last boat had B3 and no issues. With latest Mercathodes and anodes no corrosion issues. One thing that is good is the engine compartment has a lot or room compared to V drive. If I was in salt water then may be different story.

I was looking at a 2002 310DA in the Atlanta Area he is asking $89,000 for. It is in showroom condition. I am also looking for a 310DA with B-III's. Have not seen any with 7.4's in the 2002 model year. Must be a "special" order or a very early production. I am keeping my eye out for 6.2's but would jump on 7.4's.

I know your up in the mountains.. but what is your top speed with the twin 496's ??? The V-drive 350 that I have driven ant my dock is only good for 35 MPH-GPS.

The boat that I was talking about was a 2000. A friend was trying to bid it in on an E-Bay auction. It closed out last night at $41,200.
I would not be surprised to see the boat show up on boattrader for $65,000

That boat is going to FLY!

WVSundancer. When I run the boat at local AZ lakes (about 1,000 ft elevation), she'll run just a whisker past 50mph. Heavily loaded, and at Powell (3800') she'll run mid to high 40's.

What I like best about the 496's is very smooth, quiet power, the ability to plane quickly and easily, and a great cruise. I usually run between 28-3200rpm for 26-33 mph depending on conditions. At Powell, 3100 is usually at 29-30 mph.
