Here I am 3 1/2 hrs away from the boat, and I realize I forgot to measure the hole size to replace the cockpit speakers in my 340 this last weekend! Stupid me! I'd like to get started on this so I have them on hand for the next trip up in a couple weeks. Anybody know off hand or able to measure easily that can help me out? What size speakers did you use to replace the original Clarions? Any speaker recommendations would be appreciated as well. Thanks! KP

I'll let others confirm, but I believe they are 6.5".

I have an '01 340 and all for of mine were 6.5" and the sub is a 10". I replaced all of them with JL Audio. The two in the arch will also need a 1" spacer ring.

I replaced all of mine with JL 7.7" speakers, but you'll have to enlarge the mounting holes slightly for them. Also, on the arch, as Knot It stated, you'll need spacer rings to clear the back of the pole pieces on large aftermarket speakers.

The sub is In the wall of the helm companion seat locker...right next to the fire extinguisher in the cockpit. If that makes sense.

That's where my 12" sub is too - it's just about the only place to put one on this boat.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but how does the wiring run from the sub to the stereo from there? Would like to add to mine. Thx. Rob

It runs by the helm down the starboard side
