Now that I replaced the duckbill valves and survived without being esphyxiated or catching leprosy I am considering tackling the holding tank sending unit problem. The sending unit goes in through the top of the holding tank. There is about 6" of space in between the top of the holding tank and the deck. Will I be able to remove the sending unit without removing the holding tank? Once again it a 2002 310DA (1998 - 2002 series 310 Sundancer) Thanks!

Nope....the holding tank has to be at least moved to get the vertical clearance to slide the sending unit out.....go to the Dometic / Sealand site to se a picture of the sending unit. Start by first verifying the electrical conductivity of the unit on top before removing it....good luck...just be thankful you don't have to replace the whole tank.

depends on sender used it could be done. some sender use flexible plastic tubes.

On my '95 330 there are 3 senders for full/half/empty, they can all be removed easily.

I removed my senders on my 2001 310 with no problem. You do have to bend the plastic tubes some, but they are fine and cleaned up well. Have a multimeter ready to test the magnetic switches.
