We are looking at a 2002 280 Sundancer that needs a complete exhaust. What are we looking at in parts? Is it just risers, manifolds and gaskets? It has a twin 4.3 Merc with Alpha drive. Is it a difficult job?

Easy and expensive. Figure north of $2K per engine DIY manifolds to Y pipe. Easier to remove the engines.

You have the old "wet" exhaust system. OEM will be more than aftermarket but you get what you pay for. I have the same setup and motors DO NOT need to be removed to do this. Marine Max wanted $5300+ to do mine. I have the dry joint exhaust and OEM parts were around $3500 total for both motors. Yours will be much cheaper. If your handy it shouldn't take but 4-8 hours do to everything.
