2001 Sundance 340 cabin fridge only works on DC

Wow! I appreciate the info on these things. It's amazing to me the lack of standardization of the power supply.

Which compressor is more reliable? Seems like the danfoss?

Scott, I hope your fridge stays running on AC. I thought someone told me if the compressor is shook up a bit (like when you took the unit out) the compressor will free up and work

I don't think we'll really know for a while. The Sawafuji compressor has been around for decades and decades. The Danfoss is a relatively new breed and it's a much more complicated variable frequency drive. More features and more a bit more efficient, but there have been many issues with the early versions of their supplies too.

That would surprise me if shaking it has much to do with anything. Inside the compressor case is the actual compressor. It's mount with two big springs on each end, so it floats inside the case. You'd have to hit that case VERY hard with a big weight to transfer any useful movement to the actual compressor inside. If I get a chance this week when I'm going through the stuff I'll post some pics of the inside guts of the compressor.

Dave,
The AC part of my original fridge is still working over 2 weeks later. Did yours ever come back? If not, did you get a replacement or repair it?

Mine worked on AC for about a week, then reverted to being "wonky"again. I lost some of the food I had in the fridge so I run it on DC only.

I plan on pulling the power supply at the end of the season.
