im looking at a 310da 350mpi/300hp , horizion blue water inboards,

how well does the boat plane ??? without trim tab use ?? this boat is equipped with a genny also

any input from owners of this modle would be great thanks

Are you downsizing? We looked at this boat before getting the 340 and what really turned us off was the double sliding cabin door that did not seal good.

I have had a 2002 310 DA for the last 8 years. It is an outstanding and reliable boat. I have had minimal problems with it. My recommendation is to do as much of the maintenance and repair work as you can, yourself. No one will do a better job than you. The only repeat problem I have had is with the battery charger. I replaced it with "exchange" units not less than 5 times. The last time was with a different brand, Pro Mariner, as it apparently bought the other company. It is very stable in the water. Interior and exterior is very durable. My original isenglass is still the clearest on the dock thanks to Plexus cleaner. I'm in Florida and generally spend about 75 to 100 nights aboard every year. It is a fine size for 2 people and would have been great when my kids were small as we then had a 25' Bayliner. It is about 1' shorter than the 340 DA next to us, has a better cockpit design but doesn't have quite the headroom of the 340. If you are 6' tall or less, the 310 is the boat for you.

I have a 2000 with similar specs. It's a great boat. It planes well without playing with trim tabs. The cockpit layout is good. Only complaint I have is the v-berth bed. There is no way that two people can sleep comfortably in that bed.

Forgot about that too, my wife and I tried this out on one of the boats we were looking at buying and it was a very tight fit, She said I might be able to get used to this and I said no way! time to go bigger!
