Does anyone know where the compass for the Auto Pilot may be located on my boat?

on our 2000 480db, it is mounted inside the storage compartment on the starboard side in the cockpit, up and out of the way. i dont remember if 400's have any storage areas behind doors in the cockpit, but it may be worth a look.

Have you tried following the wires from the control units? The components are usually at the ends.
