I have owned my 2006 Sundeck 200 since new. Within the past 2 years I have noticed my steering having more and more "slop". When I turn the wheel, there is a noticeable amount of slack that needs to be taken up before there is any steering feel. I have had this checked by a mechanic, and he tells me that he has seen this before on Sea Ray models, and that he will need to replace the steering on the boat, to the tune of $900 installed.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any alternative to a large repair bill?
Any help or answer would be appreciated!

That sounds like an extreme solution. Our 200 has a bit of slop, but I don't remember the solution being that dramatic or expensive.

I have owned mine since new and have not experienced any problems with the steering.
