Well I guess I will start the first thread.

A few weeks a go I caught a real nice Chinook, a hen. I cured the eggs to use for Coho salmon fishing.

I went fishing last week and you know when you are sloppy baiting your hook and you splash some red egg cure on the deck; well those little red dots, once on your deck DO NOT COME OFF!!

Last night no matter how hard I rubbed they just wouldn't come out, so now I have some fishing character on my boat. At least I have some shiny red dots now.....:smt021

And I was hoping to break the "pig" thread.......dang

NEVER!!!

My favorite CSR post of all time was from Gary:

OK... wait... wait... Another question...

If your boat is at the dock with your wife and pet sitting inside and some people walk by and say "Man... look at that pig", do you know which of the three they are talking about?

Try some of the Thetford stain remover it removed the stains from a chinook eggs and blood I cleaned on the boat a couple weeks ago. Think I bought it at West Marine or Amazon. Works great on everything canvas, vinyl, deck.

Yep, That was funny. :smt043

I was on my way to take the boat to the launch yesterday. It was a beautiful day 55 degrees and sunny with a good bit of breeze. The water patrol has recently completed their fall buoy pick up. Therefore I had nothing but memory to go on when trying to avoid the various rock piles and channels. I grounded twice. Both were at hull speed. The boat drove fine after each rock encounter. Did I mention that the water level is about 3 ft lower than it was when I launched this spring?

Once the boat was up on the trailer I was able to inspect the drive. I wish I would have taken pics because it appeared that I have an electrolysis problem at the dock as the drive was very pitted and below the prop was a 3 inch crack along the underside of where the drive meets the prop shaft. Looks like I have bigger repairs this winter then I was hoping for. : (

Left antenna up when we pulled out, caught on shed and broke. Simple, relatively inexpensive, fix but the sound of that whip cracking was gut wrenching until i figured it out...

I try to get into the water on good Friday every year. This year it was 39*F, Raining, and 40 mph sustained winds. Well we went in and my "Bow Bunny" never flinched or complained she did what needed to be done. The next day though was 65 and sunny... oh well at-least we were in the water and able to enjoy it... Mopar i think you win.... Congrats:thumbsup:

Bassking, you just need to let the boat sit in the sun for a few days and those spots will go away. Oh. Wait, I forgot for a moment...you're down on the end of the Columbia where there isn't any sunshine from now until about May. Sorry. My bad.

Just kidding you a bit.

Let's see....I snapped off one antenna because I forgot to put it down.
Don't ask me how I know this one, but when a 5/8" dock line snaps because someone forgot to undo it before leaving the slip, it shoulds like a .44 Magnum was fired next to the boat.
We forgot to secure the crock pot on the galley counter when we encountered some 4' waves and ended up pulling our pulled pork off the floor.

I guess that's about it for starters.

Managed to take July and August off from boating. Degloved a finger and had nerve, tendon and vascular repair. Had arm in cast for 6 weeks.

Ya' gotta be from the northwest to really appreciate this.

Pack is right, only in the PNW! We went out yesterday and spent the night behind our favorite island only to be awaken by duck hunters at first light! I thought I saw the sun, but it was only a duck falling...........to 8th place in the standings:grin:

Re: 1st Winter Thread! The Stupid Things I did Last Summer That Gave My Boat Characte

lol, ya, that would give her character alright.

You could say that the boat I bought this year was my first boat. I made some pretty dumb mistakes this year. I got pulled over without my paper work...luckily my crew knew the patrol officers..so they were nice..and let me off with a warning...I always make sure I carry everything now. I have never forgotten the plug to date..knock on wood, but I have forgotten most everything else. The worst days were the sun block or the beverages. I hit reverse a little too fast one time, and water rolled up the swim deck on soaked my crew lol..on a an already cold day. No one was happy about that one lol. One other time I came into the dock way too hot and had a guy and his family holding his boat away from the dock to prevent damage from the monster sized wake I accidentally threw at him. I also entertained a few people on the boat ramp this summer. I'm decent at it now, and can solo it..but it wasn't always so easy. The last story was kind of funny, but more ridiculous. A friend of mine borrowed my boat, got it stuck in seaweed, and had to use a gun flare to be rescued. I couldn't be upset, because she borrowed it thinking I was stranded fishing...but...I was upset that she got it stuck with passengers...and the fact that she was able to shoot my gun flare, and I still have not! lol.

Re: 1st Winter Thread! The Stupid Things I did Last Summer That Gave My Boat Characte

My only mistake this year was going under a local bridge on plane ,forgot to lower my Antennas and snapped both in half , usually I remember these things but having the full canvas up , and a boat rideing my tail wake , was a bit distracted
