I have 1999 westerbeke generator that starts fine at panel but will not shut off at panel. What could be wrong

Pull the panel and check the connections at the back of the switch. You couls also use a VOM and check the switch itself.

When you say panel, are you talking about the engine mounted panel, or the remote panel in the cabin? They stop differently on my 98.
