Hey everyone,

New owner of a 1999 sea ray 230br. Love the boat but noticed a few limitations. My biggest is a lack of a bow ladder, so even though the boat is nice and big, we really only hang out in the back half with kids swimming.

3 or 4 adults and 3-4 kids and it kind of gets crowded on the small back platform (plus having to be off to either side with the outdrive). Looking to add a swim platform.

My biggest concern is the boat is a signature select, so it has the thru hull exhaust as well as trim tabs. Any platforms that would still work? Any recommendations?

Thanks yall!

It sounds like you are thinking that a bow ladder would work for boarding from the water? That's not the case. Bow ladders aren't long enough - they're only used for exiting/boarding while beached.

The best place to go for extended swim platforms is swim platforms dot com.

I'm saying a deck boat would probably be more suitable for my style... but with working with what I have, I figure extending and getting more space at the stern is the best route. I'm just unsure the best brands of platforms, or if any would work with all the extra 'stuff I have out the transom.

If it can be done the folks at swimplatforms.com will tell you. They are a well respected outfit around here.
