I have the 44lb Delta on my 48. Works very well. Your 40 should be fine with the 35lb version. I have the stainless model which will last 'forever', mud from the bottom cleans off of it more easily, and it looks great.

My 35# delta does great I also have it attached to 125 ft of chain then another 200 ft rope. I don't move.
