Hi all ,

I had a pre purchase survey done on a 1998 290 this morning.
Can anyone help with these questions?

Did Sea Ray make a FWC inboard/outboard setup?
Has anyone dealt with a single spot delamination on the hull ?
Thanks

Looking forward to learning as much from the forum as possible

Well, it would be Mercruiser who made it and up to SR to offer it. I don't think it was an option, but you could check on SR's site - under "models... past models". There's always a possibility that it was a special-ordered option.

Numerous people on this forum have dealt with delamination. But, can you explain further or post a pic? Could it just be a dry spot (void) where there is no resin?

Hooray!!! If he buys it we will have enough members with the same boat to start our own thread since there are two already for the 290DA and neither includes the 1998 year models. And you're right, Southpaw II, it is a great boat!

I have a 2000 290 DA. It's my understanding that the SR dealer put on the fwc if ordered. My came from Lake Mead w/o but since I boat in salt H2o I added it my self. It's pretty easy to do, just takes about 1/2 day per engine.

Russ.

I was searching for a 98 290DA 'Official thread'. Didn't find one. Who and when will start it???

Sorry it took so long for a response. Thanks for all the answers.
Looks like the deal is going through. Glad to hear the consensious is good about this model. i do not have a picture of the spot on hull but you cant see anything on the surface it a problem behind bottom paint etc. i would really like a forum for the 1998 290.

Steelheder did you install a manufactured setup or build your own? Do you remember what it cost you?

This is a block only FWC system. Manifolds do not get FWC right?

Sorry, I don't understand - what are you getting at? Are you asking another question?

Okay folks. We have just posted our own thread . . . the "Official 1998 Sea Ray Sundancer 290 Thread" over in the "Sport Cruisers" section of the forum. Check it out and participate!
