1998 290 top cabin door track broken

My 1998 290 DA top cabin door track is broken at the top and the door is hard to open and close. It looks like the helm has to be removed to replace it. Is there a way to get the door off without taking the whole helm unit out to at least repair a portion of it? Any suggestions??

I have replaced the "trucks" on my door but my track was okay. You might give Sea Ray a call, their technicians have helped me out in the past on other questions.
